Fire Bug began cutting their musical teeth in and around local Chicago venues before making their
way out to Los Angeles. Since arriving in Los Angeles, Fire Bug has become a part of the essential club scene sharing the stage with many artists including Tom Morello (RATM / Audio Slave), Donita Sparks (L7), to even unplugged sets with new folk artist Jesca Hoop and even performing with classic 60’s folk icon Donovan. The band has also received high praise from various publications such as Time Out NY and LA Weekly. Through their exposure to over 200,000 MySpace Music fans, they compare the Fire Bug sound to that of a new millennium version of 70’s rock, with each song being stamped with their own unique signature. Juliette’s voice is quirky yet distinct. Her vocals are a well-trained combination of high and low, slow and fast. Delicately gentle one moment and fiercely aggressive the next. Jules plays a guitar evocative of the Delta Blues with occasionally bizarre chord progressions and a touch of hard rock thrown in for good measure. Taken independently, there are songs in the band’s repertoire, which could be classified as indie, blues, and even psychedelic. In the final analysis, Fire Bug is out to establish a new game and people want to hear what all the noise is about. In so doing, the band recently showcased in NYC CMJ 2007. Also, Firebug will be showcasing this year at the 2008 New Music West Conference held in Vancouver BC, the largest west coast music conference in North America. With the top 5 most viewed EPK at Sonicbids. Winner of the UK New Music Awards 2007 and voted best DIY songwriters of 2006. Fire Bug currently have their songs “Paradise” and “Girl” spun on Chicago’s Q101 and on Indie 103.1 in Los Angeles. More Info: www.myspace.com/firebug
Vocalist Irvin Scabtree and guitarist Press It came together out of
boredom in small town Ontario somewhere back in 2005. They formed a
band that would channel some of their pent up aggression and hostility
but found that expressing their rage in the pompous and at times
unsophisticated world of metal simply didn't seem satisfying. For Scabtree, not having a band was a blessing in disguise because
Raggedy Angry would be born of his unbridled penchant for brutally
honest lyrics and bare bones beats. With guitarist, Press It, the duo
known as Raggedy Angry is raw, immediate and proud to be disturbing.
Mixing electronic, industrial, metal and hip hop, Raggedy Angry are the
soundtrack to suburban frustration and their live performances become
an apocalyptic display of blood and fruit loops – it's a surreal and
horrific dance party that Scabtree has taken a few punches from
audience members - literally - but he'll hit back just as hard
lyrically.
In a few short months, Raggedy Angry has taken the internet by storm
racking over 83,000 plays on their myspace page and 44,000 ‘friends’.
In June of 2007, following their sold out Spring Music Festival
performance the band started to climb various charts according to
MySpace statistics. As of the second week of December they were the 84
unsigned band in Canada, 2 Canadian industrial (trailing Econoline
Crush), 22 World industrial, 5 Canadian Electro and the 2 Experimental
band in all of MySpace, respectively. More Info: www.myspace.com/raggedyangry
Eight ears, four minds, two pairs of childhood friends: One Eleven
Archer.
Nobody could have seen this coming, nothing could have stopped it...no
honeymoons, hard feelings, phone-tag, e-tag; some strings are just
meant for certain skins... The right fuse for the right bomb.
So what has it become? Listen once.
It doesn't lead, it doesn't follow. It chooses a wave that will never
break, so the ride will never stop.
This band was ultimately destined to form. It arose from the
dissolution of two other bands, two bands that had already forged a
viable musical relationship, having played several shows on the same
bill before the simultaneous demise of both. The terms “ultimate” and
“destiny” can safely be taken as gospel, for it was the immediate
thought of members of the first-fallen band (upon hearing that the
other had fallen) that a new project should logically rise from the
remains. And so it did, and here we are, two years and two recordings
later, still acquiring momentum, still feeling warm with the knowledge
that we have traced a path only a devoted, capable band could navigate.
We are a self-motivating machine in which each component draws energy
from all others and produces sounds that displace decaying molecules in
dead musical atmospheres. Or, we are just four guys that belong in one
band. More info: www.myspace.com/oneelevenarcher
