SAVING LUNA is a true story about a young killer whale, nicknamed Luna, who was separated from his pod off the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Compassionate and enchanting, Saving Luna tells the journey of a wild beauty looking for friendship but lost in a sea of human debate and reasoning. As Luna touches the heart and stirs the soul, we are reminded that any being, however small or large, is easy to love and hard to save.
SPEAKER: Suzanne Chisholm and Michael Parfit are writers and documentary filmmakers. They specialize in telling stories of the relationships between people and the natural world. Together they have directed, produced and filmed over 20 stories across 7 continents for the National Geographic Channel, CNN and PBS on subjects as diverse as puffins, melting ice in Greenland, the Inuit of Nunavut, Newfoundland fisheries, rising sea levels in the Netherlands, ecological hotspots in the South Pacific, refugees in Tanzania, and minorities in Europe. They are married and live on a small island in British Columbia, Canada.
