Award-winning author brings bats to life in this fascinating talk.
"Lively prose and sheer imagination make Oppel's fourth bat story another winner." Kirkus Reviews
Bestselling author Kenneth Oppel will give an illustrated talk about his latest book, Darkwing, a prequel to the wildly popular Silverwing. Kenneth will discuss the mysterious evolution of bats during the Palaocene epoch (65 million years ago!) - the setting for the novel - as well as the real prehistoric creatures that inspired the animal characters in his book. Kenneth has received armloads of prizes and honours, including awards in the UK and USA, and nearly every major literary award in Canada, including the Governor General's Award. A fascinating chat with one of Canada's best and brightest writers for young people.
