If our email is post-readable and you can’t decrypt it, hit http://www.urbanmixer.com/newsletters and drop us a line about the problem. Although how you’re supposed to read these instructions if you can’t read the email, we dunno. In any case, we needs the eyeballs, we needs them precioussss, so if for any reason on this godforsaken planet you cannot clearly make out our missives, pleasepleaseplease in the name of all that is holy would you click on the link and give our flying webmonkeys a reason to live!?! We’re paying the buggers by the hour and would like to think they’re working for it. You want it, and you want it bad. To make sure you get it at least twice a week, stick raj@urbanmixer.com into your address book. What you do with it after is up to you; we're just trying to make sure our masterful missives go to the right box. That way they won't get diverted to your junk folder, (and forced to keep company with the other junkies). DID YOU CALL YOUR MOTHER? Well, somebody had to say it. If you didn’t, here’s a list of things to keep you out of the house and unable to return her calls for the next week or so, long enough for you to get your lazy ass to the florist and order something nicely overcompensatory. If you forgot last year, too, there’s always Cartier... or that new Gucci store on Georgia. But first a word from our Fearless Leader, Raj. "KIBBLES". I JUST LIKE THE WORD, OKAY? License to Thrill: we’re always in the market for some intelligence. No cheap cracks, please. We’re looking for the straight dope (bi dope is a different email list!) on the wickedest and wildest bashes and thrashes coming up in Vancouver. So if you’ve got the dope, pass it around! Specifically, pass it to me and I’ll make sure you’re a local hero to the Urban Mixer crowd, some of whom have been known to express gratitude in meaningfully interpersonal ways. Besides, there’s FREE STUFF! The first Urban Mixologist to tell us about an UM-worthy event will win a snappy tee shirt, just the thing for the Walk of Shame next morning. TALK TO ME, BABY! EMAIL COMMENTS TO raj@urbanmixer.com! Our professional squad of special ops has listed everything that’s truly ON in Vancouver in our calendar of events here. If your social calendar is already a giddy, Hohanish frenzy of fabulousness, you can check out each day individually by clicking on the day on the right hand-side of this email. Got your ennui on? Feeling a bit blue that your new boyfriend has left an indelible impression on your face (cheer up, Katie, a little Abreva™ should take care of that in no time. And say hi to Tom for us!)? Suffering from touristitus? When you’re wondering what you should do with your life, or even just your afternoon, the solution lies no farther than http://www.urbanmixer.com. Send us your raunchy, your trashy, your hotties! Especially your hotties!!! And send pix!!! Raj Taneja, phone: (604) 313-7690

Cuisine Grand mere as Grandmere used to make it. That is, if your grandmere was a Parisian chef. Mine tends to throw everything in a pressure cooker and take it out once it’s all the same colour. In a world of sculpted watermelon ices, of low-carb beer, of lemongrass consommé, of, gawd help us, Tofutti, there is Cassis. Leading the fierce resistance to food substitutes, Cassis offers the finest in old-fashioned authentically delicious real food. Where meals are meals and real men and women eat. So you know you’re gonna like it! Owned and operated by Ben Côté, Daniel McClintock and Sam Wilcox, all under 25, they along with their staff create a unique and fabulous dining experience. This bistro with a massive front window and very high ceilings was formerly the home of the original and renowned sugarandsugar gallery. We look forward to having you join us at Cassis for the next Urban Mixer! Ever wonder why it is so hard to meet people in Vancouver? Well, we have decided that enough is enough! On select days from 5pm to 9pm Urban Mixer will be holding an after work event. Come by after the workday is over and have a beer, a cocktail, or whatever suits you. Meet up with your friends, make new ones and generally just hang out. You can kick your feet up and relax, knowing that during the week there is a friendly place to go. Let’s make Vancouver the friendliest place to live in Canada. Come by yourself or with a group, it doesn’t matter one way or the other. Urban Mixers, select days from 5pm onwards. Food will be served! Space is limited. To gain entry, please RSVP online to secure your space. A ten dollar in advance (online only) or fifteen dollar at the door admission covers appetizers and drink specials. When: Wednesday, May
25h, 5:00PM - 9:00PM. Get the full 411 at http://www.urbanmixer.com/eventlistings.asp or
