Eaten at Cassis yet? Read below to find out about a smokin'
offer they've set up only for Urban Mixer members...
Urban Beginner Inline Skating this Saturday!
What are you doing this Saturday? Why not do the wheel thang
with us and get sweaty in skates? An introductory rollerblade
à la Urban Mixer as the Grand Ninja Monkey would say. After that,
we'll chill out at Bravo Bistro. But first, patience.
One must learn to skate before he or she reap the rewards of an enjoyable
post-skate evening at Bravo Bistro, grasshopper. Don't forget to sign
up before Friday!

Urban Mixer Inline Skating , June 4th, 11th and
12th, 2005
|
In-line skating is in season, and so are we. We know we look
hot in those bondage-inspired wrist guards! And you can
wear much skimpier clothing at ten mph because the net
exposure to any pedestrian is factored over time...the
faster you go, the faster you can look without getting
arrested! Skating is the most fun you can have with (some
of) your clothes on!
All skates start at the Yacht Lot, the marina
parking lot at 500 block of Denman (one block north of [below]
Georgia), near the Westin Bayshore. Helmets are mandatory.
Yes, really. Wrist guards, knee pads, etc. are optional but
recommended. Trust me, I’ve still got road rash from two years ago.
Other than that, just be sure to swaddle your dangly bits and
you’re good to go.
Newbie skate is Saturday, June 4th, 5pm.
We’re not pushing
it; we’ll just go to either the Totem Poles or Prospect
Point, depending on how hardcore our newbies are. After that,
we’ll do a sweaty post-victory lap at ice-cool Bravo
Bistro down on the waterfront, back near the starting point.
Intermediate skaters head out on Saturday, June
11th, 3:00PM. Starting from the Yacht Lot, we’ll wind
around the Park to Second Beach and beyond (shades of Buzz
Lightyear!) and do our afterpartying at Pacific Crab Co., the
new Fat Burger on Denman or at Carlos and Buds depending on
the mood of the group and who retains enough glucose in their
brains to make a decision at that point.
Hardcore sk8erz head out on Sunday, June
12th, 4:00PM. We’re tough, we can take it, so we’ll
go long and hard, looping Stanley Park, cruising past English
Bay and winding down in Yaletown. We’ll hit the patio
at LilyKate like she’s never been hit before. The infamous
Silver Sage's Flame may be involved at some point in the
festivities, and so may many tall “yes, just skated
up from Tierra del Fuego with my buds” tales.
Space is limited. To gain entry, please RSVP online to secure
your space. Cost is five dollars in advance (online only) or
ten dollar at the event. Don't forget to bring your own equipment!
See you there!

Lots of other great stuff happening this month !
A calendar more jam-packed than ... oh ya.. I'm not supposed
to go there again...
This month we have three inline skating sessions, a dinner party at Capones
on the 16th, Grouse Grind on the 18th our first-annual Social Events
Showcase and Mixer on the 22nd and a rafting adventure on the 26th!

First Annual Social Events Showcase and Evening
Mixer,
Wednesday, June 22nd, 2005
|
Too popular for you own good? I know that
feeling! If you look at Vancouver’s smorgasbord of social clubs
and wonder which are your soul-kin, then come to our
first annual Social Event Showcase. All of Vancouver’s
best mixers and minglers will be there with their posses,
hoping to woo you. If you’ve ever wondered if Campoverde
is a Sicilian horserace, if you’ve ever confused
VAML with something your cousin once had a prescription
for, you should come get a few things cleared up. And
bring your cousin, too, if he’s better.
Ten bucks will hold your spot and jump you
past the lineup, but only if you RSVP by June 15th. After
that, you’ll
be on that rope line and you’d better have fifteen in
your hand or the door nazi won’t even see you.
We look forward to having you join us at Crush
Champagne Lounge to mix, mingle and check out what this town
has to offer!
Ever wonder why it is so hard to meet people in
Vancouver? Well, we have decided that enough is enough! Come
and have a beer, a cocktail, or whatever suits you. Meet up
with your friends, make new ones and generally just hang out.
You can kick your feet up and relax, knowing that during the
week there is a friendly place to go. Let’s make Vancouver
the friendliest place to live in Canada. Come by yourself or
with a group, it doesn’t matter one way or the other.
Space is limited. To gain entry, please RSVP online
to secure your space. A ten dollar in advance (online only)
or fifteen dollar at the door admission covers entry and
the first drink (first fifty guests only)
When: Wednesday, June
22nd, 5:00PM - 9:00PM.
Location: Crush Champagne
Lounge, 1180 Granville Street, Vancouver (MAP)
Cost: $10 per person
online before June 15th, $15 thereafter.
Confirmed Groups: Urban
Mixer, Social Empire, Executive Zone, The V Spot, Executive
Search Dating. (Last updated June 1, 2005)
