2005-07-18 : Urban Mixer Events Calendar
Howdy, Vancouver! Yes, Urban Mixer is a proud Westerner...er...West Sider, anyway. If this dispatch got scrambled on the Pony Express and you can't make out what the Chief Peep Wrangler is saying, send us a carrier pigeon to http://www.urbanmixer.com/newsletters and we'll get the farrier out of the hayloft to rig us up some contraption that works, dagnubbit. If, like us, your best steer-roping, and wild goat-milking days are behind you, and you skipped the annual pilgrimage to Calgary, stick around for our own Wild (Far) West Roundup of folks dressed sharper than a cowboy's spurs and events so slick they could trip a tobiano Mustang. Okay, that gets old fast. And since I don't listen to country music anymore and Bonanza's been off the air for years, I've run out of countrified words. Lariat. I ain't used Lariat yet. Okay, NOW. Here's your very own beloved Urban Mixer events calendar for Monday, July 18th. Who's who and what's what and where you want to be for the next seven glorious days of summer. Because after the rain we've been having, God so owes us! GET FAST ! SPEED DATING THIS WEDNESDAY! Urban Mixer Speed Dating Wednesday night! Sold out for the ladies, still a couple seats left for the guys. Meet up to 15 members of the opposite sex in a series of five minute dates featuring cool people like YOU! Find out more, hit it HERE! Talk to the Raj: if you have a secret you want to share, a secret place, a secret happening, a secret party, a secret identity, a secret copy of Jen Garner's sonogram, a secret that we can share with several hundred of our special friends, don't just sit there. Hit raj@urbanmixer.com and share. Put out for me, baby! Talk to the Raj! We want to help you blow the doors off at your next get-together, so don't keep it to yourself; share the luv! And besides, we'll give you a t shirt! GOT MAKEUP SKILLZ? BEAUTYNIGHT NEEDS YOUR HELP Can you do nails and withstand those wicked fumes? Heck - do you like those wicked fumes? Any good with massage? Got a thing for hair? Ma little lady Caroline needs some hookups for her next Beautynight on Monday the 18th, 1:00 PM. Hit her, at (778) 885-4526 or carolinem@beautynight.org, or glamcat007@yahoo.ca (for extra measure). And if you like giving massages, I can always use one, ya know? Don't be shy! No... really! FRESH NEW LOOK, SAME OL' NEW FEEL This weekly missive is going in for a major overhaul and coming out from the underground. New look and feel coming to you soon! Don't forget to make sure that you add me to your safe senders list since we don't want to be caught hanging out in your Junk Mail folder with all the other junkies! Oh ya.. and this week's time killer? http://www.overheardinnewyork.com. Vancouver needs something like this - if you actually listen on the street, people DO actually say the most ridiculous things! TALK TO ME, BABY! EMAIL COMMENTS TO raj@urbanmixer.com! I can see clearly now the rain is gone. And what I see is a week's worth of damn solid reasons to get out of that damp basement suite and into a dry Martini. But remember, don't drink and drive, and really, really don't drink and skate. Skate and drink, sure. Timing is everything, you know. We give it to you just the way you want it. Check out the entire month HERE, [http://www.urbanmixer.com/events.asp], if that's the way, uh-huh, uh-huh, you like it: If you prefer to take it one day at a time, pick and click your day on the right-hand side (in green) of this very email. We're safe at any speed, baby. Raj Taneja, phone: (604) 313-7690

In-line skating is in season, and so are we. We know we look hot in those bondage-inspired wrist guards! For those who are just starting out or have never in-line skated before, this event is made for you! Those who will be attending will receive BEGINNERS INSTRUCTIONAL LESSON on proper skating technique and ways to alleviate any fears you may have as your rolling on your 8-wheeler. We will then take a nice brisk skate starting at the Yacht Lot, the marina parking lot at 500 block of Denman (one block north of [below] Georgia), near the Westin Bayshore. Helmets are mandatory. Yes, really. Wrist guards, knee pads, etc. are optional but recommended. Trust me, I’ve still got road rash from two years ago. Other than that, just be sure to swaddle your dangly bits and you’re good to go. Newbie skate is Saturday, July 23rd, 11am. We’re not pushing it; we’ll just go to either the Totem Poles or Prospect Point, depending on how hardcore our newbies are. After that, we’ll do a sweaty post-victory lap at an ice-cool location back near the starting point. Space is limited. To gain entry, please RSVP online to secure your space. Cost is eight dollars in advance (online only) or ten dollar at the event. Don't forget to bring your own equipment! See you there! $8 before July 22nd, $10 thereafter gets you in!
When: Saturday, July 23rd, 11:00 AM Raj, Kent, Frances & Friends |
